Chef Mark Mata is a Binghamton, NY native and Culinary Institute of America graduate whose career has taken him through some of New York City’s most respected kitchens. He began his journey at Union Square Cafe in 2004, building a foundation rooted in classic technique and seasonal cooking. From there, he honed his skills at BiCE Cucina, The Writing Room, and The Mermaid Inn, where he served as Executive Chef, before taking the helm at August on the Upper East Side. In 2022, Mark and his longtime operating partner Scott Dansby opened Arden in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, a beloved and acclaimed neighborhood restaurant celebrating a seasonal, multicultural menu inspired by his travels and lifelong love of bold, layered flavors. Thomas and Renee couldn’t be more excited to welcome Mark to the Town House family.
